Ingmar Vos
The passion of Ingmar Vos is the decathlon, the most multifaceted of all athletics disciplines. As well as his decathlon career, he is a full-time student at the Hague Academy for Physical Education. His goal is to take part in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and of course a number of other major sport tournaments.
This goal clearly leaves an impression on his entire life. Ingmar Vos explained, “From Monday to Friday I attend school from around 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. I train every day, except Friday. On Friday’s I often go straight from school to the running shop Run2Day where I work several days a month to cover my additional expenses. Each week, I train for all the individual components of the decathlon. On Monday and Thursday the throwing events and strength training, on Tuesday pole vault, on Wednesday hurdles; on Saturday sprint and long jump and also hurdles, with my regular trainer Maarten Klaver. On Sunday, I train usually once a day, often either with Maarten Klaver or with my high jump trainer Rini van Leeuwen. The rest of the day I have off. I mainly use my free time to really relax, but sometimes I work in the running shop. I also visit a physiotherapist once a week, to reduce the risk of sport injuries.
Because my week is so demanding, my body simply needs additional support. For my course of studies I am involved in sport some 20 hours a week, and my personal training takes up another 24 hours. As a result, I need to top up my body’s energy levels all day, but that is not possible simply by eating the right things. I already eat 14 sandwiches a day, half a litre of yoghurt, plenty of fruit and two meals in the evening. It sounds a lot, but it is all used by my body for my sporting activities; so my body needs a little extra help. And that is where the vitamins and other products from Plantina come in. If you are involved in sport on a regular basis, your body uses up a great deal of energy thus reducing your resistance levels. However, since I have been taking the products form Plantina, which is now around 5 years, I have never been really ill, and illnesses have never progressed further than a minor ‘cold’. I personally am certain that this is due to the food supplements from Plantina, because the vitamins give my exactly what I need to remain healthy and strong. In addition, throughout the day, my body is permanently recovering from the previous day’s training. The products from Plantina help my body to accelerate and somewhat facilitate the recovery process, enabling me to train hard and effectively the next day, with a fit body."
