What is hyaluronic acid?
|
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar occurring naturally in the body. Hyaluronic acid occurs in the connective fibre, the epithelia and in nerve tissues. Hyaluronic acid consists of two components, glucoronic acid and n-acetyl glucosamine or HydroHyal. Hyaluronic acid plays an important role in retaining moisture in the skin and maintaining the elasticity of the skin. Hyaluronic acid is also an important component for healthy synovial fluid and joint cartilage.
