Elisabeth Willeboordse, judo, third

09 June 2006 - At the European Judo Championships in Tampere, Finland, Elisabeth Willeboordse won the bronze medal in the up to 63 kg class.

The reigning European champion first beat the Russian Koval and subsequently the Belgian Verheke. However, Clark of Britain beat her in the semi-final, thus ending her chances of retaining her European title. In the third place final, Willeboordse lived up to her reputation, and defeated the Spaniard Alvarez.
