Complete and balancedAll vitamins and minerals should be present in the body. If one is missing, this can have major consequences for the entire body. In that situation, certain enzyme systems no longer function as a result of which specific bodily functions are no longer perfectly carried out. This is for example the case if during pregnancy the supply of magnesium and vitamin B6 is insufficient. These two substances complement one another in several enzyme systems so well that together they help to counter the occurrence of morning sickness. In the same way, magnesium collaborates closely with calcium, for example in guiding nerve stimuli. Both minerals are essential for optimum nerve function. Calcium in turn collaborates with vitamin D. Vitamin D is responsible for enabling calcium to be absorbed from our stomach into the bloodstream, so that our bones absorb the right quantities of calcium to remain strong and solid. The action of vitamin D is at its best if taken in conjunction with another fat-soluble vitamin, namely vitamin A. Both vitamins in fact commonly occur together in nature, for example in cod liver oil. Vitamin A in turn collaborates with zinc, which above all has an influence on the skin and the immune system. Once again, zinc collaborates with vitamin C, and the cycle is complete. At Plantina, high-dosage also means balanced. In that respect, the Plantina Multi differs from many other multivitamin preparations because not only the vitamins but also the minerals are sufficiently high dosed. In many multivitamins, the B vitamins are included at the expense of the levels of minerals, in particular magnesium. The Plantina Multi, however contains the full B-complex in sufficiently high dosage, while the minerals are also heavily represented. Above all the minerals scarce in traditional Dutch eating patterns, such as magnesium (100 mg), selenium (50 microgram) and zinc (10 mg). |
